This full sun, heat resistant cactus requires little or no water. It grows to 12` tall with a 10` spread. Propagation is from cuttings. The pads are edible, if peeled carefully to remove the small spines. They can be broiled and sautee`d, or made into candies, jellies, and drinks. Paddle cacti bloom yellow-orange flowers in the late spring.
