This deciduous tree needs afternoon shade in areas with hot, dry summers like Phoenix. It will grow from 40 – 80 ft. tall and 30 – 40 ft. across bearing large, white, fragrant flowers in the summer. Magnolia trees do best in rich, moist, well drained soil. It is a large, evergreen shade tree.
