Description

Cucumbers grow best with a long warm, but not hot, growing season.  Plant early in the season so they ripen before the hottest days of summer.  Some varieties are Triumph, Poinsett, Marketmore, Lemon, Diva, Japanese, and Armenian.  Armenian types are actually a melon that tastes like a cucumber.

Armenian cucumbers thrive in the heat, and will produce throughout the summer, but need consistent moisture to keep them from tasting bitter.  Plant them in a spot that gets full sun in well-drained soil.
